Lagavulin 16
140 minutes at a whisky bar, $249.43, 8 questions each. I chose the venue to test her finding on scotch. She tried mine. A third date was agreed.
This report covers a second date with the subject referred to here as F., held on Monday, September 28, at 7:00 pm, at a restaurant known for its whisky list. The date ran 140 minutes. The cost was $249.43, paid in full by me.
The date was proposed by me, by text, on the evening of September 26, and agreed the same evening. I chose the venue. She agreed to it before she looked it up.

The hypothesis
On September 26 she stated that anyone who says they like whisky or scotch is “full of shit,” on the grounds that anything that is an acquired taste is not good. I had told her 1 sentence earlier that I like scotch. I disagreed, gently, and entered no further defense on that form.
The further defense was entered 2 days later, as a venue. I chose a restaurant with a large whisky selection specifically because of that finding. The selection criterion was her position, and she was not told.
Minute 0: arrival
I arrived 10 minutes early. She arrived 11 minutes late.
On September 26 she said she is usually late. That form logged it as a disclaimer, issued 19 minutes into being accurate. It has now been accurate on 2 of 2 dates. The gap between the 2 of us at the door fell from 34 minutes to 21, and 10 of the 21 were mine.
The trial
I ordered my favorite, a Lagavulin 16, and asked her to try it.
She tried it. She said it burned her lips. [paraphrase] She did not like it. I did.
Positions disclosed: 1 and 1. Hers was on the whisky and mine was on the whisky. Both were about the same glass, in the same minute.
The design of the trial should be entered in full. The hypothesis was mine. The venue was chosen by me to support it. The sample was 1 person, who had stated the result in advance. The instrument was my favorite bottle. The control was me, and I had also stated my result in advance. At the end of it both parties held the positions they arrived with. The trial cost $249.43, and the finding of September 26 stands, on a sample of 1, at my expense.
She said that after agreeing to the venue she had looked it up online, seen that it was a known whisky bar, and understood why I had picked it. [paraphrase] We laughed about it. The file has no column for that, and records it here.
Eight and eight
Questions asked: 8 by me, 8 by her. Down from 12 and 13 two days earlier. Sixteen encounters on this site had recorded a question count before this one. This is the seventeenth, and it comes out even.
Silences: 0. Neither of us broke one, because none started.
Phone checks: 0 and 0, in 140 minutes. The file now holds 10 phone checks in 3,155 minutes.
Physical initiation
I held her hand during dinner. At the end of the evening I walked her to her car and kissed her. Both were initiated by me.
Physical initiation: 2 and 0. The row asks whether both parties were in the column, and it fails.
The next invitation
At her car I invited her to a Wu-Tang Clan concert on Sunday, October 4. She accepted.
Earlier that day, before this date began, E. had written for the first time since September 21, and her second date was set for Saturday, October 3. I issued the invitation for October 4 knowing that. The 2 open accounts now have dates on consecutive days.
The last concert in this file was September 8. That form described a concert as 135 minutes of standing beside a person at a volume that turns conversation into a series of interruptions. I proposed this one to a subject whose question count has come out within 1 of mine on both dates.
I messaged her when I got home, 30 minutes after we parted. She replied that she had gotten home safe too.
Findings
Questions: 8 and 8. Even.
Phone checks: 0 and 0, in 140 minutes.
Silences broken: 0 and 0. None started.
Travel: 54 and 40, round trip. The band on the travel row is 40%, and 40 is inside it.
Arrival: 10 minutes early, mine. 11 minutes late, hers. Her disclaimer of September 26 is 2 for 2.
Positions disclosed: 1 and 1, on 1 glass.
Rationalizations recorded: 0.
Contributed by F.: $0.00. Requested of F.: $0.00.
Proposed the date and chose the venue: both mine. The split needs one party in each, and it fails. The venue was chosen to settle an argument she did not know was still open.
Reciprocity: 2 of 5 columns balanced, the question count and the travel.
Costs
- Dinner and drinks: $249.43
- Total: $249.43
Cost per hour in person: $106.90, against $65.83 across everything this ledger has recorded, this date included. It is the second most expensive hour in the file, behind August 7, and $249.43 is the third largest figure on any form here, $1.43 over September 5.
Running position, this arc: 2 of 3 dates held, $415.66 out of pocket, 350 minutes in person, 174 minutes of road between the 2 of us across 2 dates, $0.00 contributed by the other party and $0.00 requested of her.
Running position, all subjects: $3,461.50 out of pocket, 3,155 minutes in person.
Status
The follow-up field reads yes. The third date was requested by me, at her car, and accepted by her there. It is set for October 4.
E.’s second date is set for October 3, the day before. Two accounts are open. Recoverable: $0.00.

The index counts the rows above Recorded, not counted — one credit each, except the proposal and the venue, which answer one question between them and take a single credit for the pair. Columns measured counts those same rows against a different question, not a narrower one: whether an instrument or a person produced the figure. A basis marked † is a figure nobody measured.
