On September 9 I unmatched D. That closes the third account on this site inside 6 days and the fourth closed by me. The first ran 120 days and $2,570.94 and ended in a message I sent on August 13.
Notes
Notes to the accounts.
Of the $148.33 spent on September 8, $106.33 was 2 tickets to a band I had already decided to see. It is the only expenditure in this file that went on paying out after the reason for it stopped.
Phone checks recorded across the 2,505 minutes in person before September 8: 3. Phone checks recorded across the 135 minutes of September 8: 7, 6 of them hers and 1 mine. The rate moves from 1 every 835 minutes to 1 every 19.
On July 1 I told her I had taken myself off the market and cancelled the apps. On September 7, 68 days later, I opened the fourth account on this site with a message I sent from one, and the date was held the following evening.
On September 6 I sent the message that closed C.’s account, a day after 180 minutes that cost $248.00 and produced no disclaimers and no rationalizations. It is the only account on this site closed while both parties were on good terms, and the only one that has produced anything since.
Dates on this site that record travel: 13. Rows where both parties drove the same distance: 2, June 28 and September 5. In 9 of the other 11 my figure is 90 minutes.
One phone call, 60 minutes, placed before the September 5 date and not counted on its form. The previous arc ran 120 days and 11 dates and settled every one of them by message. This is the first line item on this site for a telephone call.
Flowers on September 5: $8.00, on a bill of $248.00. Flowers on April 20: $15.00 for a dozen roses, which spent 180 minutes in a parking lot while the date they were bought for ran on inside.
The introduction to C. came from a matchmaker neither of us is a client of, and I contacted her on August 31. The fees line on that form reads $0.00, and it is the only introduction in this file made by somebody who does this for a living.
Cost per hour at a dive bar on September 3: $32.00, against $67.17 across everything this ledger has recorded. The 2,265 minutes and $2,570.94 that came before it were spent assembling conditions under which somebody would pay attention, and the condition here was a friend answering that the two of us were not together.
The column for what the other party contributed has been filled 16 times on this site and reads $0.00 on all 16. On September 3 it could not be filled at all, because it is the one evening I booked nothing and reached for nothing, and an absence is not a zero.
At 11:30 pm on September 3 I was asked a 1-word question, “free?”, and answered it with 44 words: an attraction disclosed, a pace stated, and a policy on one-night stands. That is 3 terms of an agreement covering a transaction nobody had proposed, and it stood for about 90 seconds, until her reply.
14 of the 16 cards are still unredeemed. I wrote them, I underwrote them, and since August 18 there is no arrangement left for them to attach to. They carry no expiry date.
The message that ended the first arc was sent on the afternoon of August 13, by me, on day 115 of 120. The form is filed for day 120, 5 days later, and until this line it was the only place in the file that named August 13.
Statements in which she accurately described what she was going to do: 14. The first arrived on the second date and the second on the third. After the evening of May 30, which produced 4 more, I held 6 further dates and spent $1,758.00.
Silences longer than 24 hours: 3. They ran 5 days in April and May, 4 days in early June, and 4 days again later the same month. I ended all 3.
Her contribution across 11 dates: $0.00. The amount I asked her for across the same 11: $0.00. The column exists because I built the form, and I have entered the same figure into both halves of it 16 times and quoted only one of them.
Phone checks across 1,800 minutes in person: 3, all of them hers. Two were a shift she had missed and a child calling her. The third was on my couch while I cooked, and I am the one who wrote it down.
11 dates held, 11 of them proposed by me, and 0 of them agreed while both of us were in the room. Every one was settled by text, after the evening it would have been easiest to ask.
Arrival times, on the dates where they were recorded: me 15 minutes early, her 10 to 15 minutes late. On July 31 that put 30 minutes between us at a table booked for one time.
I bought a year of a couples app on August 3 so that we would have something to answer together, and she joined when I invited her. We used it daily for 7 days. The subscription runs to August 3, 2027.
She asked me to a concert in Washington state after her friends had already declined it. I looked up flights and a hotel for a last-minute weekend and said no on July 27. In 98 days it is the only thing I priced before agreeing to it, the only one I priced as a bill falling entirely on me, and the only one that closed at $0.00.
On July 25 she drove 90 minutes and I drove 0. It is the only date in the file where my travel column reads zero, and it reads zero because she came to my house.
16 days in another state, with the daily texting unbroken the whole way through. The first claim against the cards came on day 11 and settled at $846.10, for an overnight that took place 1 state away from me.
The birthday box took 420 minutes to build across July 2 and 3, the 2 days after I told her I had taken myself off the market. At the time I handed it over I had spent 1,350 minutes in her company, so the manufacture ran to 31 percent of the relationship.
On July 1, at a mall, I told her I had taken myself off the market to focus solely on her and had cancelled the apps. The reply was 2 characters, and neither of us said another word about it while the account stayed open. It is the only line in this file with no dollar figure, no clock reading and no receipt, and it is the one everything after it was spent against.
She capped the June 9 date at 2 hours before it started, because she was not getting a sitter. It is the first figure in this file that she set.
Two stated policies in this file end with the speaker correcting themselves inside the same sentence. Mine was 2 words after 17, on May 5. Hers was 5 words after a list, on May 31.
On May 8 she offered 2 dates and I asked for both. She agreed to 1. On May 27 she sent me a screenshot of my own message and held me to the other, which is the first thing in 37 days that she started.
